National Day of Prayer for Police banner 2017

Essex Police logoOn Thursday 25th May 2017, with the kind permission of Chief Constable Stephen Kavanagh, we invited the Christians of our City to join us on a Prayer Walk at Police HQ in Chelmsford, to bless the men and women of our County’s Police Service.Thy Kingdom Come circular logo

This was on the National Day of Prayer for Police, which coincided with the first day of the Global Thy Kingdom Come Prayer Initiative.

Chelmsford 24-7 is a Community Partner of the National CPA logoChristian Police Association.

It also happened that this was just three days after the terrorist suicide-bomb attack at a Concert in Manchester and we were privileged to be able to stand with our police service and those up and down the country at this truly testing time.

Police HQ Prayer Walk 250517 (3)Twelve of us gathered outside the Main Reception, and were taken round the HQ site by Constable Rob Hance, the Essex leader of the CPA. We stopped and prayed by the various buildings and offices, praying over the work of specific departments and the safety and welfare of all staff who work there and for the work of all Essex Police officers and staff across the whole County.

We each wore one of our blue reflective vests, which boldly proclaimed, ‘Praying for our City’. No-one could be in doubt who we were.
