Chelmsford 24- and Christians Together in Chelmsford – A New Thing!

A Message from Chelmsford 24-7 leader and Chair of Christians Together in Chelmsford (CTiC), David Gilbey:

A New Thing

‘See I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?’ Isaiah 43:19

Since 2015, I have worked amongst the churches and Christian organisations of our City, firstly through Chelmsford 24-7 Prayer and now also as Chair of CTiC. With increasing clarity, I perceive that The Lord’s heart is for all of us within The Church in Chelmsford, regardless of denomination and tradition, to increasingly journey with Him together, ‘As One’. (See John, Chapter 17).

I see a growing oneness developing amongst the Believers of our City. Traditional differences are almost visibly melting away, as our mutual love for Jesus and our desire to spread the ‘Good News’ of the gospel gives us a unity not just in name, but through genuine relationship and friendship.

As the ‘new thing’ The Lord is doing emerges, CTiC, together with Chelmsford 24-7 Prayer are exploring how we can better serve and have even closer relationships with the City’s Christian community. Our ultimate desire and goal is to see the name of Jesus lifted up and made famous throughout Chelmsford!

May God bless you as together we endeavour to serve Him – do continue to pray for these things to take place.

Spirit Cafe – A Place of Encounter

Don’t be alarmed by the title – they are talking about encountering The Holy Spirit!

The next Spirit Cafe, organised by Kings Community Church, Braintree, is on Saturday 10th November, 2-4pm at the Town Hall in Braintree.

If you are in need of some direction, peace, healing, or simply an encounter with a God that loves you, then come to the Spirit Cafe.

No one was ever turned away by Jesus, and the church behind it believe that anyone who wants to come and have a real encounter with Him is welcome.

UPDATE 12th November from Chelmsford 24-7 Prayer leader, David Gilbey:

I went along to Spirit Cafe and arriving shortly after 2pm, was so encouraged to see the room full with people who had come seeking an encounter with God. There may have been a dozen, many of whom were probably e not Christians or church-goers, and more people arrived whilst I was there.

I was greeted by one of the Team, who ran through what was being offered, making it very clear that it was the Spirit of God that people were going to engage with. Free tea, coffee and biscuits were also very welcome.

Three Teams of two or three Christians invited those who had come along, in turn, to sit with them in a small group and to receive ministry.

I decided to have a Spiritual Reading – which was an opportunity to receive a prophetic word from God. What I was offered was 100% accurate, speaking into my situation and was a great encouragement!

I thoroughly recommend Spirit Cafe. Well done to Kings Community Church. Church getting out of it’s box! Be wonderful to see something like this is Chelmsford.

Worship Unlimited – this Saturday evening

Near to Chelmsford this Saturday evening – highly recommended!

An evening of unrestricted, abandoned, spirit-led worship, led by a core team of people with an anointing in worship and ministry. The sole aim of these nights is to worship God together with no agenda other than to move deeper into His presence, and give Him all the glory because of who He is – the One who is worthy of all our praise!

The next Worship Unlimited evening will be held on Saturday 10th November 2018 at 7.30pm at Brentwood Vineyard, Ashwells Road, Brentwood, CM15 9SE.

Please do come and join us, and share the details with your local churches and friends. Come ready to give God ALL the glory!!

Chelmsford 24-7 Prayer into the future

(This post was previously published in our recent email News Update on 5th November)

Future past sign postAs you may be aware, at the end of May this year and after a last minute prompting from The Lord, I stood and was elected Chair of Christians Together in Chelmsford (CTiC). I had strongly felt for sometime that the bonds between Chelmsford 24-7 Prayer and CTiC should become closer, but how that would work in practice was initially unclear.

At the same time, and since the end of 2017, wearing my other ‘hat’, as Coordinator of Call the Nation to Prayer (CTNTP), I had been heading up a Team who, on 29th September, organised an event called , As One’  – two linked gatherings in the Coventry area. ‘As One’, a day of prayer and declaration, took place to ‘release’ revival prophecy upon the UK – It was an amazing time, some from Chelmsford attended  – read all about it here on the CTNTP website –

Whilst ‘As One’ was taking shape, the direction was also emerging locally for the future relationship of Chelmsford 24-7 Prayer and CTiC. It was initially wondered if the two should merge, but was eventually decided that although the two will remain ‘on paper’ as separate organisations, Chelmsford 24-7 Prayer will be the ‘prayer arm’ of CTiC!

Naturally, heading up both organisations – and with Sue Gibson, the 24-7 Prayer, Prayer Support Coordinator also on the CTiC Committee – there were always going to be overlaps between the two and there continues to be a growing continuity in our direction and purpose.

There is an emerging sense too, just as in the national ‘As One’ gatherings, that The Lord is also leading the Christians in our City into greater unity. As a result, The Kingdom of God is definitely advancing in Chelmsford!

This is all very much still an ‘unknown path’; but one that is being navigated by careful but with deliberate steps of Faith. Our mutual love of Jesus is drawing each of us together on a new journey of developing relationships and friendships, rather than simply plans and agendas.

Do bear with us and pray for The Holy Spirit to continue to guide.

Oh, and do come along to our new open to all, Prayer for Our City meetings – next 22nd November – click here for details.

Blessings to you all as you continue to journey with us.
