Praying for the City and World at our Prayer Space at Chelmsford Community Church

We regularly open Prayer Spaces around the City. We presently have around seven per month, at different churches around the City, which open for a few hours during the day or evening.

Open to all, Prayer Spaces are places to meet God and for personal prayer over our City, Nation and World and for anything that is on your heart.

They are informal, quiet and and relaxed. Worship music gently plays and various resources are laid out around the room to guide and aid you in your prayers if you wish.

Prayer Spaces are not ‘prayer meetings’ as such, so there is not usually corporate prayer (although occasionally this might happen). They are instead places of encounter, where we believe God will speak to you, guide and send you out envisioned to make disciples of Jesus, (See the Great Commission of Jesus, Matthew 28:16-20).

What did Rev. Nick Lear, Regional Baptist Leader, say about our 12 hour PrayerNick Lear Space at South Woodham Ferrers?

Read what he said here.

You may arrive at any time during the opening hours and spend as much or as little time there as you are able.

All our Prayer Spaces are at ground floor level or have access for anyone with mobility issues. (Note: there is a small step up to access our Cables House venue).

A story from a Prayer Space in 2016

2016-03-23 12.25.51‘Yesterday in Hall Street [a teenage boy, who had been brought in by an older relative] sat with the keys [Keys of the Kingdom Prayer Station] and prayed that more of his friends at school would look to find the way to heaven which he has never kept quiet about.

In the evening one of his friends contacted him out of the blue and said that he had gone to church as a little boy and felt he wanted to go back and learn what it is all about and could [he] tell him what he should do’.

Regular Prayer Spaces

We seek to partner with churches to run their own regular Prayer Spaces or Prayer Rooms. Three of our Prayer Spaces are entirely run by the churches that host them.

If you were interested in partnering with us to create a regular Prayer Space at your church or other venue in the Chelmsford area, we would also be very pleased to hear from you.

More details of what might be required can be found here.

‘One off’ Prayer Spaces

2015-10-07 10.08.03Our Prayer Space packs down into three or four plastic crates, with two fold-up displays boards and an advertising swing board to go outside. We can transport it to your church or other venue, for you to organise a morning, afternoon, evening or even a whole day of prayer for your area.

We like to allow about three-quarters of an hour to set up and less is needed to pack up. Ideally you will provide a reasonably large room and preferably around 6 long tables and a number of chairs according to the numbers expected. We can however easily adapt to available space and will be happy to discuss any other ideas.

We sometimes set up a ‘river’ which can be up to fifty meters in length, which illustrates Ezekiel 47 and the River of Life, flowing from the Temple of God!

We make no charge for any of this, but a donation to our work is welcome.
